About alvechurch picnic in the park
The annual Alvechurch Parish Picnic in the Park is hosted at The Meadows with kind permission of Alvechurch Parish Council. As caretakers of the Wiggins Memorial Field this event could not take place without their permission, for which we are very grateful. The Parish Council also support the Picnic Team by helping with logistics such as road closure applications, rubbish collections and financial paperwork. We thank them for their continued support.
Our sponsors are very generous year after year and with their sponsorship it allows all monies raised by the Picnic to go to local charities. We are very very grateful to them all!
The Picnic itself does not set out to raise money (although we are delighted by our efforts which typically raise £1000 each year) – it sets out to provide a day when local businesses can promote themselves, groups can canvas for new members and support, charities can raise money for their own worthy causes. But above all the Picnic provides a day out for the villagers of the Parish of Alvechurch.

louise parkinson
Involved in all areas, Louise is an integral member of the team with her specialism being all things finance, layout design and printing. Her enthusiasm, organisation and friendliness contribute in no small part to the Picnic’s success. Her husband Neil is incredibly supportive in the run up and during the whole day. Her daughter Eleanor joined the Committee in 2023.
Natalie Wise
Natalie is our calm voice of reason and is simply superb at helping organising our logistics. Natalie does a fantastic job of rallying prizes for our raffle, organising the logo competition and taking the minutes of our monthly meetings. Her husband Geoff is wonderful in supporting us during the day, whilst also looking after their two young girls.
Sarah Courbet
A keen advocate of all things Alvechurch Sarah has many roles – publicity, webmaster, social media, dog show organiser, stall holder recruiter and communicator and steward liaison. She excels in gaining new stallholders with gentle cajoling and lots of social media outreach.
Sam Lewis
Resident of Hopwood and a local Councillor Sam provides amazing support including liaison with our ever supportive Alvechurch Parish Council. She helps run the Information Point AND the Dog Show on the day as well.
Tony Wallis
Since joining the team Tony continues to make his presence felt with ideas aplenty. He is a superstar with all things logistics including staging, dog show set up, traffic management set up and simply being brilliant at being practical.
Andy Terry
Andy took on the role of entertainment coordinator in 2019 and is working hard this year to pull together a great, diverse range of entertainment for this year’s picnic. On the day, Andy is there to make sure everything runs smoothly and everyone is entertained with a variety of music and dance acts.
Rob Morgan
Chairman of Alvechurch Cricket Club Rob joined the Committee 3 years ago to continue as organiser of the evening’s events over at the Cricket Club.
