TV Vet Alice Rhodes

TV Vet Alice Rhodes

We are thrilled to announce that TV Vet Alice Rhodes from the BBCs ‘Trust me I’m a Vet’ programme is joining us at Alvechurch Picnic in the Park on Sunday 27th May. After qualifying as a vet Alice started working life in mixed animal practice in Suffolk but has since specialised in small animals and, luckily for us, moved to Warwickshire. Alice’s particular interest is how humans and animals inter-relate – she understands that pets are more than just animals, they are companions. Having adored my golden labrador for nearly 15 years I totally agree!

Alice confesses a passion for the countryside and wildlife and enjoys walking, outdoor sports and the countryside. So she is the perfect person to visit Alvechurch and judge our the Fun Dog Show; alongside our very own Cramar vet, Sarah-Jane Barton.

Dog Show Winner

Fun Dog Show

The fun dog show starts at 11 with several classes such as Waggiest Tail; Loudest Bark and Cutest Puppy where every dog will receive a treat and there are rosettes for each class winner. The overall winner ‘The Dog the Judge would most like to take Home’ receives The Buddy Cup to keep for 12 months, along with a medal to keep. The Buddy Cup was given in memory of Lisa’s dog Buddy; Lisa owns local beauty business At Home with Lou and has very kindly sponsored the Dog Show since it’s inception.

Not only will Alice be judging our pooches and presenting prizes, but she will open the main Picnic at 12 noon; the main event runs all afternoon with entertainment, activities, Go Karting, food and festivities. At 5pm we continue into the night with more food and fun over at Alvechurch Cricket Club.
